And then the next day we had to leave for Florida, note that dad stayed home. and so I called like every day and asked how all the animals were and he said that he was able to get Rosie to drink but she wouldn't eat.
Next day he says that she is not better and still has not gotten up.
Next day is about the same.
And then I got to talk to him again on Wednesday and I asked how Rosie was and he said that she had gotten so bad that he had had to put her down. And yes I did cry a little, but it was weird to be so far away from home when something like that happens.
Now for the rest of this post.
I sold daddy Brie (seen below)
For those who don't know, I raised Brie and bottle fed her. she was a weak little thing and dad said that if I could save her she was mine and so a little bit of TLC, milk and she was mine.
and so I sold Brie and bought Blossom and Guernsey milk cow (seen below)
Blossom was old and had mastitis in three of her teats and so I sold her.
I started to look for another cow that would be younger and more able to milk. I just couldn't find a good one in my price range.
I have finally made up my mind that I will be getting goats, these are the three breeds that I have picked:
Nubian's, they are great goats, we used to have some.
La Manchas, I have read only good things about them :)
Saanans, just look at those udders, and the form of their body's, they are a very good breed.
Let me know what Ya think,
Neighgirl
P.S. The goat pic are not mine

Oh, I'm so sorry about Rosie!! It stinks that you weren't there at the time, but I hope you had fun at Disney and Seaworld. :) Oh, golly, the udders on those things! From looking at the pictures I'd say they're your best bet, but I don't know much about goats, so you probably shouldn't pay me any attention. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about Rosie, it is tough to lose them . Goats huh? don't know a thing about 'em
